Dungavel IRC

We are contracted to provide the whole of healthcare by Centre Manager Mitie.

Our provision includes GP services, nursing (general and mental health), therapy, pharmacy, pyschiatry, dentistry, optician, podiatry.

Dungavel House Immigration Removal Centre is located near Strathaven in South Lanarkshire, Scotland and accommodates up to 249 men and women. GEO Group operates the facility on behalf of the Home Office, holding people being detained under immigration powers pending their departure from the UK.

HMP Coldingley

We are contracted to Central North West London NHS Foundation Trust to provide GP services

Our team works closely CNWL to provide a tightly integrated service. In partnership with Public Health England and CNWL we have pioneered the use of tele-medicine at this site to improve access to local NHS secondary care 

Coldingley was opened in 1969 as a Category B training prison. In 1993 it was re-designated as Category C training prison with an operational capacity of 513 males.

HMP Send

We are contracted to Central North West London NHS Foundation Trust to provide GP services

Originally an Isolation Hospital, Send first became a Prison in 1962 when it opened as a Junior Detention Centre. Re-rolled in 1998 and completely rebuilt by 1999, HMP Send currently operates as a closed Female Training Prison with a capacity of 282

HMP Downview

We are contracted to Central North West London NHS Foundation Trust to provide GP services

Downview is a prison for women located in Sutton, Surrey. The prison opened in 1989 as a category C Male Prison, converted from the former nurses’ home of Banstead Hospital. In September 2001 Downview re-roled to a closed prison for adult women.

HMP Norwich

We are contracted to manage GP services by Healthcare Provider HCRG

HMP Norwich is a category B / C multifunctional prison holding adult male and juvenile inmates. It serves the courts of both Suffolk and Norfolk and is situated on Mousehold Heath, overlooking the city of Norwich. The prison first opened in 1887 and is situated on the site of a former army barracks. It currently has a capacity of 769.

Early Release on Compassionate Grounds – Independent Medical Advisor

Under section 248 of the Criminal Justice Act 2003), the Secretary of State may release a prisoner on licence at any point in the sentence if he is satisfied that this is justified by “exceptional circumstances”.

Our GP team provides an expert view on specific and sometimes complex medical conditions and relates that advice to the ERCG medical grounds criteria (set out in Prison Service Order (PSO) 6000)
