We founded Med-Co Secure Healthcare in 2010 with a vision to place GP services at the heart of prison healthcare. We aim to bring closer equivalence of care to community medicine and also enable GPs to maximise their contribution in caring for this exceptionally vulnerable patient group.
Our ethos is based on finding the right clinicians to join us, to strive for excellence in everything we do, to treat our patients with dignity and respect and to support one another in a highly demanding work environment.
Today we have a specialist team of more than 30 clinicians who bring their passion and skill to make our vision a daily reality. They range from highly experienced, senior practitioners who also contribute in external roles such as GP Assessors and CQC inspectors, to others much newer to this sector. All are driven by a desire to excel, to learn and share their individual experiences for the benefit of the team
If you’d like to be part of it, we’d love to talk to you.
What You Say About Us
How we work
We have a large team of experienced GPs, nurses and other clinicians working at locations across the UK.
Our clinicians are supported by our rota management, governance and admin team based in Swansea.
We take advantage of remote working technologies, affording us flexibility, the ability to quickly establish virtual teams, increase productivity and make decisions faster.
What we do for clients
We build constructive and meaningful partnerships with fellow Healthcare providers and other relevant bodies.
Our aim is to continually seek to improve the quality of healthcare provision by delivering commercially sustainable healthcare services, whilst remaining cost effective.
We work with Healthcare organisations to deliver specific Primary Care elements of Secure Health. Our team consists of experienced Clinicians and Managers who will work closely with you to map out exactly what support you need.
Mental Health training
In addition to providing turnkey healthcare services, we also assist our clients with Mental Health training for their custody staff.
Based on an intimate knowledge and understanding of the mental health issues encountered in this sector, we train custody staff to recognise and cope with the day to day pressures of this exacting work.
